This piece for recorder focusses on phrasing. Using only the notes GABCD, students learn the concept of question and answer phrases. The opening phrase uses a skipping pattern that heads upward, as if in a question. The answer phrase uses the same pattern, but in reverse, sounding like an answer. In addition, there is a solo flute part that is cued in the music. This can be played by the teacher, or another student, to add another element to the "conversation."
